In my last blog post, I described in details how to write a reference letter for EB1A. Some of you were already asking when I plan to release complete reference letters.
I promised to publish 6 full length recommendation letters as a part of EB1A DIY kit I am currently working on. The DIY kit includes the real case of a young researcher whose EB1A petition was approved recently (2017). This EB1A case was prepared by an experienced immigration attorney.
EB1A Case
Today I want to share more details about this EB1A case. The petitioner was a young scientist – only one year after completing his PhD, working as postdoc at a U.S. university. I am glad that I can show you that even young applicants have a chance to succeed despite the fact that EB1A green card is typically used by petitioners at a higher level of expertise.
The other interesting fact is that this EB1A petition was relatively short, but highly efficient. The sample petition in this EB1A DIY kit shows how the lawyer found persuasive arguments and supported them by evidence without creating an unnecessarily bulky petition. Quality was preferred over quantity.
Because this is a real case I have to change all the names, institutions and research subject to carefully protect the privacy of all involved persons. After that, the whole DIY kit will be reviewed and approved by both, the petitioner and the lawyer. That’s the reason why it takes some time to finish it. But I promise to release it as soon as possible (hopefully in the first quarter of 2018).
EB1A Lawyer as Expert Adviser
Let me introduce the author of this EB1A petition which is part of the DIY kit. When I started this blog I knew that it would be invaluable to have a lawyer on board. I imagined someone experienced in preparing EB1A cases, successful and knowledgeable about any news regarding this topic. At the same time, I wanted a person, who would be willing to share this knowledge here on the blog.
I came across Joseph Atkin, an experienced immigration lawyer, focused on EB1A, EB1B, EB2 NIW, and O-1 petitions for many years. He was willing to help and share his experience from his long and successful legal career.
He started to serve as an expert adviser here on my EB1A blog.
He was also willing to choose one of his many EB1A cases and provide it as a base for the DIY kit as mentioned earlier.
I am really glad to have such expert here and I believe that together we can build highly valuable EB1A resource and the DIY kit to help people build their cases by themselves.
As always, please let me know in comments below if you have any questions or topics you are interested in.
